T...While holidaying in Tasmania, Joshua Elliott noticed a 'For Sale' sign on an iconic Hobart chocolate shop. Taking it as a literal sign, they make the move to Tasmania are now the proud owners of Salamanca’s Norman & Dann, and calling Tasmania home.
“When we came down in July 2022 for Em’s birthday, I’d forgotten a birthday card so Finn and I went into a Salamanca newsagency and sent Em into Norman & Dann as a distraction,” laughs Joshua. “Then on the last day we were here, there was a big sign above it saying For Sale. It was a literal sign for us!”

After Yves and Monica’s neighbours asked for their boys to ‘play more quietly’, they knew their time living in a Netherlands inner-city apartment was up, and the expanses of Monica’s home state of Tasmania might be better suited.
“They were just being kids,” smiles Monica. “But it was very challenging to raise them in this city environment. So, in the middle of the pandemic we decided to make the massive move back to Tasmania so they could enjoy the same upbringing that I did, and we could have the support of family and friends.”
